Metro Remittance (UK) Ltd or MRUK or MetroRemit is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company (Metrobank) Philippines. It was incorporated on September 24, 2002 primarily to provide money remittance services to Filipino clients in the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland and in some part of Europe. MRUK was registered, as Money Transmitter, with Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) on June 1, 2003 under the Money Laundering Regulations. MRUK has been granted by UK Financial Services Authority an authorization to carry on payment services activities from January 28, 2010 under the UK Payment Services Regulations 2009 and re-authorised on the 29th of January 2018 to carry on said activities under Payment Services Directive 2 or PSD2.
MRUK commenced trading at Kensington Office starting 4th of June 2003, its central and only address in the United Kingdom.
